Nano sensorics develops an advanced, high-precision vaping gas monitoring sensor

Project description:

The project “Creation, testing and development of a sensor for monitoring gas emitted by electronic cigarettes” will be carried out by UAB “Nano sensors” (legal entity code: 305682967, address: Elektrėnų st. 7, LT-51193 Kaunas). UAB “Nano sensorics” conducts scientific research and experimental development in the field of smart Internet of Things (IoT) sensors. The company’s products directly influence the efficient use of energy resources and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. Sustainable construction, industrial sensors based on promising interfaces such as LoRaWAN, 5G are proposed.

The effects of e-cigarettes on others are questionable and controversial. Due to their possible impact in society, many questions arise regarding the change in the attitude of young people towards smoking and the consequences of passive vaping. A very significant factor in the formation of vaping habits is the possibility to vape cigarettes in places where is prohibited, thus enabling subjects to vape without restrictions.

E- vaping restrictions are enacted to reduce the prevalence of smoking, and the unlimited use of e-cigarettes returns the public health gains achieved up to that point to previous levels.

This could reduce successful quit attempts, increase tobacco use among youth and adults, and encourage quitters to relapse.

With the project, we aim to create a particularly accurate sensor for monitoring the gas emitted by electronic cigarettes at low vapor intensity. This sensor will use advanced algorithms to detect extremely high variety of the e-cigarette smoke consistencies and correlate the detected e-cigarette gas consistency correlations to determine the e-cigarette smoke detection intensity of a wide intensity range.

 

The main technical parameters of the advanced sensor:

Measurement parameters: vape index, CO, CO2, VOC; aggression level index;

Measuring diameter up to: 3.5-4 m;

Integrated advanced calculation algorithms (intellectual algorithms -AI);

Communication interfaces: 5G, LoRaWAN EU, US, AU, option NB-IoT;

Power supply: l5-12VDC, AA batteries to ensure communication interface operation.
